Borgo Santandrea latest Hotel Opening in Amalfi Coast
The first new hotel to open on the Amalfi Coast in nearly 20 years, Borgo Santandrea has just opened its doors following several years of meticulous construction along the cliffs. Located on one of the most beautiful corners of Amalfi, the property overlooks the small fishermen’s village of Conca dei Marini (home to Jackie O’s favorite local restaurant, La Tonnarella, as well as Sophia Loren’s longtime villa).
The hotel offers 29 rooms and 16 suites, all with stunning sea views, and is the passion project of two Italian brothers from Ischia, one of whom worked for the Four Seasons for many years opening hotels around the world.
The hotel boasts its own private beach, jetty, exclusive beach club, and three restaurants serving Mediterranean food with varying modern twists – overseen by Michelin-starred chef Crescenzo Scotti. Guests are seamlessly connected to Borgo Santandrea’s private beach by a series of walkways and a network of lush terraced gardens of olive, lemon, jasmine, and pomegranate trees.
Borgo Santandrea’s signature Italian mid-century-meets-Mediterranean aesthetic celebrates an authentically Made-in-Italy perspective that brings together regional artisanship with highly recognized Italian brands. One standout design element in particular is the 31 different types of geometric hand-made and hand-painted tiles, inspired by regional traditions, classical design, and Gio Ponti. White Italian marble – selected from Puglia, Veneto, and Tuscany – sheathes surfaces around the property and reflects the light from the hand-blown Venetian glass lamps that are dotted throughout the hotel.
