Bahia Mon Amour
Bahia is one of those destinations in the world that makes the traveler feel alive. Because this stunning state in Brazil is the best translation of what the country really is – multicultural and welcoming.
Yes, I know, we are all wanting to explore and be adventurous again and yet because of the pandemic we are not able to travel to the remarkably beautiful destinations in the world like Brazil just yet.
Discover the Boho Cabanas of Casas da Vila in Trancoso
In that sense, we can still be inspired by the authorial and bespoke places on Earth. And one of my favorite places is Trancoso. Here, the candy like colorful houses that dot the square, and the bohemian vibe is king.
A place immersed in nature and sustainability, Trancoso has incredible stays for the conscious traveler. From UXUA to Etnia Casa Hotel, there are plenty. One though, has a unique charm: Casas da Vila by hotelier Karin Farah.
Set amongst lush tropical gardens, the small luxury hotel is a gem. A little blue bungalow close to beach? Yes, please!
There are 8 bungalows for you to choose from. Each with unique furnishings and décor. Think vintage furniture, local fabrics, art pieces and tons of creativity. Because barefoot chic is the norm here.
The houses are in vernacular architecture with wooden walls and roofs, typical of the region, as well as exposed beams and large windows.
The décor focus is on upcycling with most items sourced from antique shops. Hence the approach is low impact when it comes to interior decoration – 100% waste free.
The gardens flown into the pool area and share the open spaces of the breakfast kitchen and tables. All here has been bespoke designed by Karin Farah.
The magic at Casas is the relationship Karin has with local designers, producers, and suppliers. Therefore, all is conceived to be as sustainable as possible with social responsibility as a focus.
A host like no other, she introduces visitors to what a great hotel experience really must be.
Because personality and a broad smile are, for sure, the welcoming gift in Bahia, Brazil.
